Tropical Blues?

Picture this...

You've returned home from a Caribbean getaway, where you woke up to the sound of waves and a Pina Colada. You're swiping through beach pictures and reminiscing of 2 days ago when your Out Of Office was on and your work phone was off.

Don't let holiday memories popping up in archive folders, make you envious of your past self. Escape monochromatic dullness and relive your last tropical holiday.

So whether your passport is collecting dust and like me, you've outgrown your swimwear or you've just landed from an exotic vacay, here are some ways to extend the tropical vibes for now and forever.

1. Soothe those vacay blues with a soundtrack to the Caribbean.

Soca Bacchanalist or Reggae groover?

2. Treat yourself to a Caribbean meal

Reignite your palette and whip up a meal loaded with flavour that will transport you to the tropics. Taste has a strong connection to memory so spice it up with a slow cooked curry goat or escovitch fish meal.

Give the recipe below a try.

3. Bring coastal magic indoors

Put your favourite beach finds on display. A plate full of sand or stones, or one favourite shell can awaken the memory of the islands. Turn your living room into a coral retreat or add minimal beach inspired accents that complement.

4. Plant Mum/Dad Pending...

Cue the green fingers, and become a Plant Mum/Dad. An eye-catching exotic house-plant can transform any space into an island haven.

Cultivating a greenspace comes with a myriad of benefits. A statement indoor bloomer can calm nerves and clean the air. Whilst surrounding yourself in a jungle of Parlour Palms and Calathea can instantly boost the aesthetic of any interior.

Be sure to regularly mist your emerald beauties as tropical houseplants need moisture to thrive.
